Notice

UK Government moved from the containment phase to the delay phase in response to the COVID-19 outbreak and imposed strict measures on 23rd March 2020. By reducing close contact between people – ‘social distancing’ – and stopping all non-essential activities, the aim is to slow down community transmission, protect the NHS and save lives. The PM introduced a new Covid Alert System, which identifies the risk of Covid 19 using scientific data.

In response, I developed a set of responses depending on the Covid Alert Level, which are specified below.

To support social distancing and help students at the times of uncertainties, I am providing a £10 discount for online lessons and standardising lesson rates for all my students as specified here.

Understanding the aspirations of my students, regardless of how COVID-19 develops in the weeks to come, I would continue to support the needs of my students. If you have concerns about tutoring lessons, get help here.

Best wishes,

Jade

My Response to Covid Alert Levels

LEVEL 1 - PREPARE

  • Clean teaching materials and tablet screens before and after lessons.
  • Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water before and after lessons.

LEVEL 2 - REDUCE

  • Introduce discounts for online lessons to reduce lessons in person.
  • Avoid all public transportation and crowded areas. All travel would be by walking, cycling, car-share or private hire.
  • Provide free cancellations when requested 4 hours prior to lesson start time, should tutees be uncomfortable having a lesson.

LEVEL 3 - RESTRICT

  • Cancel in-person lessons involving peak hour travel, 3pm - 7pm, therefore, rescheduling lessons to a later start at 7pm.
  • Provide, when requested, Personal Protection Equipment, e.g. face masks.
  • Maintain a safe distance between me and my students during lessons.

LEVEL 4 & 5 - ELIMINATE

  • Deliver all lessons remotely in online classrooms.
  • Provide full refund of all unused hours from block bookings.

To encourage remote lessons, I am providing £10 discount for online lessons.

To reduce contact between myself and others, I would avoid peak-hours travel from Monday 16th March. Lessons starting between 3 to 7 pm would move to later start time at 7pm. Weekend lessons continue as normal.

By travelling via car-share, private hire or cycling, I am reducing the contact between myself and others. This leads to an increase in travel cost, however, I strive to keep my lessons rates the same for my students.

In-person lesson rates would be changed to completely distance-based and standardised across the board for all my students as specified here. This represent no increase in rates for 80% of my students.

Understanding the aspirations of my students, regardless of how COVID-19 develops in the weeks to come, I would continue to be available to support the needs of my students.
