My BWB Experience
I joined the Transport and Infrastructure (civils) design team for three weeks.
Gained experience in design using Autodesk® AutoCAD, Civil3D and advanced drainage modelling using Innovyze® MicroDrainage.
Analysed and simulated the basic traffic flow at the Junction between Lower Parliament St and A612 in Nottingham using PTV Vissim and Linsig3.
Developed design and completed technical CAD drawings for surface water drainage, finished levels, earthworks, service yard joints layouts, and external construction details for plot 4020B in DP World London Gateway.
Completed Access road vertical and horizontal alignment and vehicle tracking for Panattoni Park in Theale, Reading using Civil3D.
Reviewed design reports and drawings for Transport for NSW Parramatta Light Railway in Greater Western Sydney, Australia.
Produced site inspection report for plot 1080 in DP World London Gateway underlining key observations.
What my supervisor said.
We tasked him with producing a Drainage, Levels and Earthworks model for one of our London Gateway plots. He excelled in all aspects and we were impressed by his work; he clearly showed that he would be a valued member of any team.
Supervising allowed me to challenge my basics knowledge of civil engineering – there were moments where I started to question my own technical ability!
